Joint seminar “Promotion and Implementation of Innovation in Energy Sector” was arranged at Lithuanian Energy Institute on March 29, 2007. The aim of the seminar was to give overview of innovations promotion programs, financing possibilities in Lithuania and from foreign financial facilities, as well as to present various innovation technologies and implementation of these technologies in Lithuania in the context of sustainable energy development. Various innovative technologies, using renewable energy sources (RES) were presented in the second part of the seminar. Baltic Biomass Network proposed the presentation “Promising innovative biomass technologies” with vast explanation of energy biomass, showing all types of biomass available in Lithuania for the production of solid, liquid and gaseous fuel as well as the most promising currently used biomass technologies and those under development. Most data used in our presentation was obtained from recent international BBN events.
Over 40 participants took part in the seminar: energy experts from municipalities, business companies involved in implementation of energy innovations, financial institutions, innovation agencies as well as academic people interested in scientific research.
