Visualising Energy Landscapes

On the basis of regional biomass potential analysis BBN planning groups visualise the feasibility and impact of regional bio-energy development according to specific product lines. These GIS based visulaisations portray suitable areas for energy crop production, solid-fuel recovery, and plant location. The results are integrated as bio-energy GIS informational layers into regional spatial planning data banks.

Providing Tools for Regional Development Strategies
BBN bio-energy spatial planning tools support farmers and forest operators in evaluating the risks and chances in re-orienting production schemes to bio-energy systems. Development authorities are provided with instruments for identifying areas appropriate for plant locations, fuel-switch projects, energy cropping, and untapped resource expoiltation while enabling them to minimise environmental, land, and resource use conflicts
